EFT for Marriage Problems

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

If you are unsure how to deal with your marriage problems, you are not alone. Just about half of marriages these days end in divorce, and this can be avoided if the root issues are dealt with. The emotional freedom technique (EFT) is highly effective in helping couples deal with anxieties and emotional problems that are damaging to the relationship.

By examining the root causes of your behavior, and your partner’s behavior, you can discover ways to resolve those problems. For example, stress and anxiety at work can cause you or your partner to withdraw, or allow career related activities to dominate time and attention. This can leave the other feeling neglected, which can cause other anxieties about the relationship. When left unchecked, these feelings can snowball into arguments that can lead to bitterness and resentment. These and similar issues can result in separation and divorce.

Marriage problems don’t have to end in divorce. With EFT, you can address each of these root issues and alleviate your anxiety. After examining the root of your feelings and actions, you can use emotional freedom tapping techniques to help get rid of the fears and apprehension regarding your relationship, career, children, and other issues that are causing strife in the relationship.

Combining couples counseling with EFT can also be extremely effective in handling your relationship problems. You can find a therapist who combines couples counseling with EFT, or you can simply use the sessions to find out what is bothering the two of you. Sometimes you need a third party to help you figure out where the problems originate. You can use this information and apply it to your own EFT treatment at home on yourself.

Whatever you do, do not ignore your relationship problems. There is almost always some deep worry or fear that surrounds issues in marriage. Find out what they are and free yourself from them. Trying the emotional freedom technique is worth the effort to reconnect with your partner and resolve problematic issues. Expose your anxieties and let them go with EFT.
