EFT: Brief History
With so many people teaching and promoting EFT (emotional freedom technique) today, it’s logical to wonder just how this all got started. Here is a very brief history of how this practice became so popular.
First of all, it’s worth pointing out that acupuncture and other energetics work dealing with the human life force meridians and chakra systems are literally thousands of years old. Much of what we now learn through EFT comes from these intuitive studies.
EFT was officially introduced by Gary Craig in the 1990s. Craig was a student of Thought Field Therapy and other more complex, proprietary practices that also included tapping points along the body’s energy meridians to produce desired effects.
It occurred to Craig that specific sequences of tapping were not required to create ideal results. Therefore, rigid systems were no necessary for releasing energetic/emotional blockage that prevent one from enjoying optimal results in life.
The popularity of EFT has soared since the release of the film The Secret and the subsequent popularity of concepts like law of attraction, intentional manifestation, etc. Currently emotional freedom technique is being embraced not only as a means to relieve physical illness, but also to release emotional blockages that would prevent one from having his or her desired life experience.
Depending on your world view, this concept may require you to overcome some amount of skeptical thinking. In this event, the very best thing you can do is learn a few basic EFT methods and begin practicing them right away.
Despite what many people suggest, EFT is not a trick of the mind or a placebo effect. You don’t need to believe the process will work if you do it correctly.
Many people are literally shocked by how incredibly effective EFT can be for releasing numerous negative blockages. And I hope you will soon be one of the many people to enjoy the benefits of this safe, easy application.
